Dr. Barnes was born and raised in sunny San Diego. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology from UC Davis. He earned both his Doctor of Optometry degree and Masters in Vision Science from the New England College of Optometry. His research focused on myopia control.

Dr. Barnes practices full-scope optometric care with experience including refractive surgery evaluation/co-management, myopia control, and eye disease. He is dedicated to providing personalized and comprehensive eye care to his patients. His passion for understanding the intricacies of vision has driven him to stay at the forefront of optometric research and practice.

Dr. Barnes is a board member of the San Francisco Optometric Association and an active member of the California Optometric Association. He is committed to advancing the field of optometry and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Barnes enjoys hiking, gardening, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. You can often find him on a trail with his wife and dog on the weekends.

Dr. Rachel Reed is a pediatric optometrist who provides comprehensive eye care for children of all ages. A Massachusetts native, Dr. Reed earned her Doctor of Optometry degree with a  concentration in pediatric optometry from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA  where she subsequently completed her residency in pediatric optometry. She trained at several  hospitals and health centers in the Boston area including Boston Children’s Hospital, Tufts  Medical Center, Boston Medical Center, and the Perkins School for the Blind. Dr. Reed loves  following her patients through development, and she especially enjoys working with children  with disabilities. Her practice reflects her clinical interest in strabismus, amblyopia, myopia  control, and binocular vision (eye teaming, focusing, and tracking) disorders. She happily offers  all modalities of myopia control and non-verbal eye examinations.

Dr. Kelly Kao earned her Doctor of Optometry degree with Clinical Honors from the University of California – Berkeley School of Optometry. After teaching at the UC Berkeley School of Optometry, conducting vision research at Google and Verily, and doing optometric missionary work overseas, she now enjoys helping her patients improve their quality of life through vision therapy and myopia (nearsightedness) control.

She completed a residency program in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation at the SUNY College of Optometry in New York, NY. There, she received advanced training in the evaluation and treatment of strabismus (eye turn), amblyopia (lazy eye), visual skills deficiencies (eye teaming, focusing, and tracking), learning-related deficiencies, and acquired brain injuries.

Dr. Kao is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She is certified to fit Paragon CRT lenses and is excited to serve the young and bright future of Silicon Valley.

Dr. Tran was born and raised in San Jose, CA. He attended the University of San Francisco with a B.S. in Biology and minor in Chemistry. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University.

Dr. Tran practices full-scope optometry which includes management and treatment of red eye infections and eye diseases, cataract evaluation/co-management, and LASIK evaluation/co-management. Dr. Tran is national board and glaucoma certified, and licensed in the use of diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents. He speaks conversational Spanish and Vietnamese.

Dr. Tran’s received his clinical training from EYEcenter Optometric in Rocklin CA, Indian Health Services in Lawton, OK, Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital in Oceanside, CA and the University Eye Center at Ketchum Health in Anaheim, CA.

He is a big fan of the great outdoors, from hiking to running to fishing, and an avid cook. His goal is to one day hike in all the national parks and see a basketball game in all of the NBA arenas.

Born and raised in the Bay Area, Dr. Neufeld obtained his B.S. in Biology from UCLA and his O.D. degree from Southern College of Optometry, where he graduated with honors. He has a passion for providing personable, thorough, and informative care. He believes that the best eye exam comes from truly understanding a patient and getting to know their individual needs. In both 2021 and 2022, Dr. Neufeld was named to Newsweek's Top 150 Optometrists in the US.

In addition to being a clinician, Dr. Neufeld has given Continuing Education lectures to fellow optometrists, served on expert panels and has written articles on specialty contact lenses and myopia control for optometric publications. He has also founded two other companies: one that provides professional/practice resources to optometrists and their practices; and another that provides highly specialized contact lens services to patients with unique eye conditions.

Dr. Neufeld is an active member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control, American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, Santa Clara County Optometric Association, and Los Altos Chamber of Commerce. He is also a long time member of the Los Altos Rotary Club, and most recently served on the Board of Directors.

In his spare time, Dr. Neufeld is a fitness enthusiast who also enjoys listening to music on vinyl, outdoor activities and spending time with loved ones and his two dogs.
